Want to join the Hybrid Hornets?
The Hybrid Hornets is the robotics team at Kearsley High School. It is open to any students in grades 9-12th. Meetings are held at Burgtorf, which is located to the right of the high school. We meet from 6-8 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays both on and off season. While on season, we meet on Saturdays from 10 AM - 4 PM.
There is more to the Kearsley robotics team than just robots. There is a business side to the robotics. Members gain experience in areas such as fundraising, community outreach, volunteering, graphic design, etc. On the build side, members learn how to use power tools, CAD, programming, wiring, etc. Members also can get experience with wood working by helping build a practice playing field.
"Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship." -FIRST
